UNC Charlotte’s campus is located within a small city and therefore faces the same safety and security issues encountered in all small cities. Generally, we view the campus as safe and secure. Our campus population has grown by thousands over the last few years and yet our crime level has not increased. UNC Charlotte leaders are committed to improving and maintaining this excellent level of safety.
In 2008, UNC Charlotte established a Campus Safety and Security Committee, (CSSC). The goal was implementing a comprehensive plan to assure the physical safety and security of UNC Charlotte’s main campus, annually monitoring our plan’s progress and advising on how to make the campus a safer and more secure environment for all. This site is one of the committee’s recommendations. We hope you find it useful.
